Bred in the songwriting and publishing side of the music industry, Tami LaTrell took her passion for writing and joined the digital content field with Interactive/Radio One in 2009 as their Houston Online Editor covering all things hip-pop culture, music and entertainment news. In 2012-2013 Tami began managing not only Houston, but also St. Louis and Dallas, overseeing their content digital efforts and social media campaigns. She joined Radio One’s Syndicated brands and was promoted to National Producer in 2013 maintaining and publishing digital content for The Rickey Smiley Morning Show. She was later promoted into Regional Online Editor for Atlanta local radio station brands HotSpotATL.com, MajicATL.com, MyPraiseATL.com, MyBoomATL.com and acquired Houston, Charlotte, Raleigh and Richmond markets.
She was recently recognized as Ebony Magazine‘s “Black Women to Know in PR, Tech & Digital Media” in their April 2017 online issue.
As newly appointed CEO of The R Group in 2017, Tami consults with brands to develop identity and creative messaging, website design functionality, content management and social media strategy. She also consults with various corporations, government agencies and non-profits as well as editorial, sales & promotions companies on how to implement best practices in the field of digital media to yield high engagement and return from targeted users.
She prides herself on leading the vision of her clients, maintaining their brands voices online, training and development, and forming strategic partnerships.
In her downtime, she writes and develops songwriters, and is a music workshop facilitator. She is an established multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated songwriter, holds membership with The Recording Academy and ASCAP and is also an advocate for music and creative rights.
